If you are a twin mom, welcome. If you are just curious, welcome. Here are the FAQs of twin moms. When you are a twin mom, you get asked a series of questions that I feel sometimes I wanted to hand out a flyer. But as I have grown in motherhood and as a mother of twins, I am learning though these are questions are repetitive to me are not to others. People are curious and feel blessed to be the mother of twins.
FAQ of Twin Moms
-Are they yours?
My babies are bi-racial. When they were newborns, they were so light that I remember a stranger joking that I must have stolen those babies. I guess it is nice they are concerned whether they are mine or not right?
-Are they identical?
If they girl/girl or boy/boy I can understand this question. If they are boy & girl twins, then the answer is always no. Boy/Girl twins are fraternal, not identical.
-How do you tell them apart? (When twins are fraternal)
When they are fraternal it’s easy.
-Are you sure? (Follow up question, when twins are confirmed to be not identical)
It’s like asking, are you sure they are yours? You sure you gave birth to them?
-Are they natural?
I think with the high percentage of twins and reality shows such as Kate plus eight that people are curious to know if they are natural or by some kind of medical (or holistic) intervention. Honestly, does it matter?
-How do you do it?
Raise a child? Be more specific with that question. No, I really do not how to answer that question. And if anyone has the answer for this, please share!
-Do they get along well?
For me, I only have my twins and wonder how moms have 1+ kids get asked the same question. I would love to know.
