Follow these strategies below and tweak them to fit you and your needs, and create a self care routine that will help you feel zen, relaxed, and ready for the day and living life.
How To Kick Start Your Self Care Plan
Get Quality Sleep
This sort of starts before the morning arrives but ensuring you get quality sleep is a must. If you are running on empty in the sleep department, it can dampen your mood, leave you feeling more anxiety, and lower your energy level. Try and get adequate sleep every night. If your schedule is so packed you feel like you can’t go to sleep on time, then look at your calendar. Eliminate a few things and learn to say no, and put yourself as priority number one. Food Is Fuel
Food indeed is fuel for our bodies. Ensure that you are starting off with a breakfast that will help give your body that kickstart it needs in the fuel department. Protein, fresh fruits and veggies, and toss in a few carbs. Whether you prefer making a smoothie bowl or hearty breakfast sandwich. Create a meal that will give you energy for the day. Get up and get moving. Take a walk around your neighborhood or do some yoga. Whatever you are in to take time to stretch and work those limbs. Exercise is the perfect way to boost your mood even though sometimes it might be the last thing you want to do. I always love to step outdoors and soak up some vitamin D.
Set Time Aside
Get up a little bit earlier and make time for yourself. Whether you love reading the morning paper, devotional, or going for a quick run around the neighborhood. Make sure you don’t keep hitting that snooze and do something to nourish your wants and needs you might feel. Even if it is sitting in silence before the kids wake up! Find something that allows you to feel a release of stress or offers peace to your soul.
The Right Mindset
Being in the right mindset is always the perfect way to set yourself up for success. Read an inspirational book (we love the Fringe Hours), listen to a podcast, say affirmations, or read your devotional. Just find a way to give yourself that pep talk that you are the boss and can tackle anything that comes your way.
I saw this post on Facebook and couldn’t agree with it more when it comes to mindset and self care.
