It’s that time again, y’all! The holiday season is coming around! That means that everyone is wracking their brains trying to figure out the perfect gift for their loved ones. This will be my first holiday as a mom, and I am so excited to get to share this Christmas with my son! With my new role means a whole new set of wishes. I’ve put together for you guys the perfect list of gift ideas for the new mom in your life! Whether you are looking to buy for the upcoming holiday, a baby shower, or just because, you have come to the right place!

In my family, one of our favorite things to put together for people is a goodie bag (or box, or basket, or whatever it will fit in)! We love to fill it with all kinds of different small items that make for one really awesome gift! As such, I thought it would only be right to put together a few ideas perfect for new moms. Of course, I’ve also included a few bigger single item gifts, in case that is more your style.

When you think of new mom gifts, you probably think of things that are for mommy AND baby. I wanted to make sure that mommy’s needs don’t get swept under the rug, so I’ve devoted a section for goodies just for mom! Make sure you scroll to the bottom to check that out!

Enjoy & happy shopping, y’all!

New Mama Gift Guide

What does a new mama really what? Here's I want when it comes to gifts! The New Mom Gift Guide

Gifts for Mom & Baby

“Get This Baby Out” Basket – Have fun with this! We all know there are tons of different old wives’ tales about how to help coax labor along. Put together a basket of some of your safe favorites for your loved one to try. Here are a few that I could think of!

    • Hot Sauce

    • Exercise Ball

    • Pineapple
    • Evening Primrose Oil

  • Something Sexy – ya know, sex helps babies make their entrance!

Boobie Basket – Your options here are truly endless! There are so many fantastic options out there these days. Use your imagination and pick up some of your favorite boobie items.

    • Nipple cream

    • Nipple shields

    • Nursing Pads

    • Milk Catcher

    • Fenugreek

    • Mother’s Milk Tea

    • Nursing/Pumping Bra

    • Nursing Cover

    • Nursing Pillow

Sleep Well Basket – Both mommies and babies struggle with getting a good sleeping routine down. I have absolutely loved diffusing lavender essential oil in the evenings for my little guy. It is completely safe and something you can start doing from the day they are born! Don’t forget mamas eye mask! For me, it was hard to sleep in the light of the day, so having a good light-blocking eye mask would have been a life saver. (Tip: Get one with some kind of soothing material like the one I’ve linked below to help with the inevitable dark, sleepy circles all moms deal with!)

    • Lavender Bed Spray (I wouldn’t use this item on baby’s bed)

    • New Jammies

    • Eye Mask

    • Lavender Essential Oil & Diffuser

    • White Noise Machine

    • Swaddle

Sick Baby Basket – The first time a new baby gets sick is hard on everyone! Put together a basket of everything mom could possibly need so that when illness strikes, she is completely prepared! This means being sure to include something for belly aches, constipation, sore gums, and colds.

    • Gas Drops

    • Gripe Water

    • Karo Syrup
    • Tylenol (Ibuprofen is no longer recommended until 6mo+)

    • Baby Vicks

    • Lemon/Thieves Essential Oil
    • Nose Frida

Baby Carrier – These things are serious life savers! Sometimes, your kiddo just wants to be held. For me, it is ALWAYS the freezer aisle in Wal-Mart – he always throws a dang fit and we have to head straight for the door. If I wear him, we can make it through an entire trip to the store without any issues. In fact, instead of being hysterical, he is usually asleep by the end. I’m a believer!

Baby Brezza – I wanted one of these so bad! If you have an awesome formula feeding mom in your life, get her one of these and you will be her very best friend. It’s a sure-fire way to solve your late-night bottle making problems.

Breast Pump – There are some really cool breast pumps out there – some will even connect to your smart phone! Find out what exactly your mom friend needs out of her breast pump and help a girl out! I’ve linked a couple of different options below for you to get some ideas.

Video Baby Monitor – A video baby monitor is a must have! I thought it was ridiculous because I live in a small apartment, but I love that I can check on my son without having to sneak into his bedroom. It gives us great peace of mind without running the risk of waking him up for that late night check!

Owlet Monitor – If you’re anything like me, bed time is your biggest baby worry. Enter the Owlet monitor! It has the ability to track your baby’s oxygen level and heart beat so that you know your baby is safe and sound in bed. Talk about an amazing product to help keep mom’s mind at ease.

Gifts Just for Mom

Relaxation Station – I know this mom needs some peace and quiet occasionally and I’m sure the mom in your life does, as well! This basket includes some of my very favorite things. You may see a trend here – for me, lavender equals relaxing. I absolutely love it and could just submerge my whole body in it every single night before I go to bed. I promise, you won’t be sorry!

    • Lavender Scented Bath Salts

    • Lavender Scented Lotion

    • Lavender Scented Body Scrub

    • Candle

    • Guided Meditation CD

    • Yoga DVD

    • Book

    • Robe/Slippers

Date Night Basket – As a new mom, sometimes I just want some time to reconnect with my husband. Having a baby seriously changes a relationship’s dynamics, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have time together like you did before! Here is a goodie bag with a fun date night in mind. I’m thinking a nice picnic (either out somewhere or in your own back yard!) with yummy food and then head in for a movie and popcorn snuggled up on the couch. Sounds like a great night to me!

    • Romantic Movie

    • Popcorn

    • Wine/Beer
    • Picnic Basket

    • Blanket

“Baby is STILL Awake” Basket – Let’s face it, y’all – there are going to be plenty of nights that the baby just isn’t going to sleep nearly enough. On those nights, mom (and dad) are going to need to call in reinforcements. This goodie bag has everything you need to stay up and stay sane while dealing with your sleepless baby.

    • Coffee

    • Coffee Cup

    • Snacks

    • Extra-long phone charger

  • Late Night Message Diapers

Mom Swag Basket – There are so many crazy awesome mom items out there now. Pick the ones that you like and put them all in a basket for your favorite new mom. Making a baby is a big deal and she deserves to feel special!

    • T-shirt

    • Coffee Cup

    • Wine Glass

    • Key Chain

    • Picture Frame
